"on their way to work" Is terrier now a recognized profession?

Yes let's assume they're thugs. After all: no harm in assuming from the race of a person that they're unemployed thugs - Jews understand that. Especially rabid right wing ones. All about understanding what it is to be human.
Curt, you'd have been at home in 1930s Germany.

Actually I think it is your comment that sounds more anti-Semitic, and therefore much more familiar to 1930's Germany.

The Guardian, known for its fervently pro-Palestinian stance, released a version of the AP report with a crucial difference. Its version of the AP report stated:

Though the Israeli driver's identity has not yet been verified, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said the shooting was the work of a Jewish settler and implied it was intentional. "Those (settlers) ... commit their crimes under the protection of the government and Israeli military," Abbas said.

By asserting that the Israeli driver's identity is unverified, the Guardian implicitly attaches more credibility to Abbas's demonization of the settlers, which resonates in much of the Guardian's coverage.

Um, I think a more rational, less blatantly insane reading of the statement in bold is that it casts doubt on Abbas's statement - if the identity of the driver is not verified, Abbas's declaration seems kinda knee-jerk, does it not?

Anyway, lots of out-of-context quotes together with a rather interesting COMPLETE ABSENCE OF LINKS TO THE ARTICLES IN QUESTION. Worthless.

Nope, no bias against Israel and Jews here. Move alone, move along.

Thanks Bob.

And cinesimon? Take your bias and shove it. You're part of the problem jerk off.

Have a care, Jimmah. Bob is doing this so the stories can be discussed on a thread not generated by a bot. And it is worth seeing how different organizations report a story.

And sorry, Jimmah, but when it comes to Israel I do not believe the Guardian should be given the benefit of the doubt. They've been biased too many times for too long and have thus earned having CAMERA take a hostile interpretation of their coverage.

I know that a search is very complicated since it happened only two days ago, but I can do this myself without summarizing Camera's article.

I'll do it in three posts, since the boxes are smaller.

From the AP, in the Washington Post:

Israeli truck driver kills 2 Palestinians, wounds a third in West Bank shooting

By Associated Press, Published: June 17

JERUSALEM — An Israeli tow truck driver shot dead two Palestinians and wounded one Sunday during what police said was an attempted car robbery in the West Bank.

Israeli police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the Palestinian men ambushed the Israeli’s vehicle and beat him over the head with chains and bars before the driver opened fire in self-defense. He said the driver is being treated for head wounds at an Israeli hospital, and a police investigation is continuing.

The Palestinian men have criminal records, according to Palestinian police.

The two men died from gunshot wounds to the head and chest, said Ziyad Abu Zahara, acting director of a hospital in Hebron in the southern West Bank. The incident occurred near the city.

Though the Israeli driver has been identified by police as coming from the south of the country — and not a West Bank settlement — Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said the shooting was the work of a Jewish settler and implied it was intentional.

“Those (settlers) ... commit their crimes under the protection of the government and Israeli military,” Abbas said.

From the BBC.

Palestinian 'attackers' killed by Israeli truck driver

Two Palestinians have been shot dead in the West Bank by an Israeli truck driver, who said they attacked and tried to rob him, Israeli police say.

The unnamed driver, who suffered a head wound, told police he opened fire after the Palestinians came at him with chains and iron bars, reports said.

The incident happened in the village of al-Samu, near Hebron.

There have been recent clashes between settlers and Palestinians in the West Bank, where tensions remain high.

The driver in the incident comes from the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon, according to Israeli media reports.

Palestinian media identified the dead men as Anwar Abed Rabbo, 27, from Yatta, and Naeem al-Najjar, 32, from Idhna.

A third Palestinian is reported to have been injured in the shooting.

Israeli police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said it appeared that the driver had been lured to the location by the Palestinians under the pretence of using his services, Israeli media reported.

Palestinian Maan news agency quoted Yatta municipality chief Zahran Abu Qbetta as saying the men who were killed were on their way to work at the time of the shooting.

And finally, another search to find the Guardian's piece. [If I can do this, being a tech lunkhead, it's not too difficult.]

A slight variation on the AP original, but you can see that the slight variation changes the meaning. The magic of 'journalism'.

This just amounts to a multiplication of this garbage as far as I can see. Why is that a good thing? (Don't really care if Aigle is man or machine btw - the articles themselves are only of use to wingnuts looking for confirmation bias about poor Israel and evil European lefties. Snore.)

The claim made by the Camera article in this instance is just stupid, and obvously so. And they don't give any links so that we might check the sense of their reporting. But hey let's not give the Guardian the 'benefit of the doubt' by noticing that fact - they're evil Jew hating lefties like the BBC! Good fucking grief.

I see that too, only I see it differently.

Another reason I'm doing this is to do it better, and with dialogue. You can see the BBC article next to the Washington Post article. Does someone really need to analyze the differences?

You can also see that Camera did a pretty fair summary, not the greatest, but not distorted either, of the articles they featured.

Snore.

Really, don't wake up on my account. Sleep a little longer.

Bob, here on LGF (and anywhere else that has any standards) we know better than to cherry pick quotes in this way without giving links to the original articles so that claims regarding those pieces can be checked.

Pretty basic stuff.

Not really. I pointed out Camera's rather laughable misread of the Guardian article in #4 and no-one has disputed that - the nearest we have to a defence of Camera on that seems to be 'give them a break - the Guardian and BBC are evil!'

re: #15 Aye Pod

I'm just summarizing the articles on Camera. I was able to find the links on my own, just for this conversation. I'm not simply going to direct anyone to Camera just to drive up their traffic. In fact, I have to build up credibility that I can render the Camera posts accurately, and maybe even improve upon them. I'd like to make the issue of traffic irrelevant.

They are not coming out of left field. A simple comparison of the WP article compared to the BBC's version shows that there's smoke, which indicates there might be fire.

Media bias is what put LGF on the map, by showing it so clearly that anyone could see it. And Charles has done this so many times that believing in the objective press is pretty close to believing in Santa Claus.

I'm not going to make a long case right here and now about media bias as it pertains to the Middle East, especially Israel. But because of Aigle, I'll be checking Camera every day, to try to do a better job on their own topics.

I never mentioned traffic. I'm talking about Camera's article. Inviting comparison between different news sources by cherry picking quotes which are posted without links to the original articles they came from. Pathetic.

re: #16 Aye Pod

I'm not going to be giving breaks. I won't dispute your point about the Guardian, in this instance. But I would be willing to bet there will be other instances in the future. Right now, for me, the blackboard [white board] is clear of any chalk [dry erase lines]. I'll just follow the bread crumbs.

For instance, my previous post covered Camera's latest article on the Awads. Personally, after two articles about the Awads, a third was not necessary. However, I did feel it relevant that within discussions in US Presbyterian circles, the Awads' statements are taken as fact, so much so that embellishing the stories seem reasonable. I found that to be a problem.

re: #18 Aye Pod

Traffic has been an issue for others, me included. I felt that the bot strategy was a way to divert traffic to their site. If the goal of Camera is to fight media manipulation, then manipulating our curiosity to generate traffic to their site is a pretty lousy strategy. Because of this, I wouldn't read the posts.

And because of this, I am now reading their posts and reworking them so that you don't have to go there.

This looks like a thread for the open discussion of issues.

An Interplanetary GPS Using Pulsar Signals
Spacecraft could determine their position anywhere in the solar system to within five kilometres using signals from x-ray pulsars, say astronomers. Navigating in space is a tricky business. That's fine for the radial distance, but ...

4 Reasons ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ Is Secretly About Drugs
Nice, right? Anyway, here's my thesis: Raiders of the Lost Ark is not an action-adventure movie about an archaeologist who plays by his own rules and saves the day.
