It’s the most annoying thing. Where were these people when the public option was being discussed as a possibility?

You know what, fuck these people. If the SC finds insurance mandates to be unconstitutional then their is only one option for universal health care: single payer. I hope the President goes full bore on it.

That’s why I was satisfied when ACA was pushed through. It is so badly flawed it could not persist for long with or without a SC nod.

The crazy thing is, back in 2009, people were saying they wanted a public option:

December 2009 - 59% Yes to public option

July 2009 - 72% Yes to public option

There are more out there, but the public option polled consistently well in the public.

Even into 2010, after the law was on the books, people were saying that it didn’t go far enough…

Often cited polls where people didn’t like Obamacare, but few bothered with why, and that was it didn’t do enough. The GOP loves to quote these polls unless specifics are given.

Again, lies and obfuscation from the GOP. It’s the only thing they have other than cut taxes, drill baby drill, tort reform and race to the bottom of selling insurance across state lines. SSDD for several decades.

Bravo for GOP marketing. Take a plan that they assembled, get the other party to propose it, barely let it pass, label it as socialism, brand it with the POTUS’s name, lambast it at every turn, drive the public vilify it, send it to SCOTUS as unconstitutional, so they can use it as a pillar against Obama’s reelection.

If not for the utter wretchedness of the whole thing, it’s a masterpiece…

Right, I remember the polls. This makes me mad at the Blue Dogs in the Dem caucus who rejected it. I’d rather have the PO than the mandate. What the GOP doesn’t want to admit is the mandate was someting they’ve supported. If USSC, I really do hope Obama goes all out though it will be more difficult now being the minority party in the House.

With New Mini-Satellites, Special Ops Takes Its Manhunts Into Space
Some of the beacons use infrared flashes to signal their location; in 2009, al-Qaida propagandists claimed they found them all over villages that had been hit with U.S. drone strikes. Others are implanted into seemingly-innocent commercial electronics. Under "TTL examples," Richardson's presentation (.pdf) showed pictures of a cell phone and a key fob, like the kind used to open a car. Still other ...

Sarah Palin: It Snowed in Alaska in May, So There Is No Global Warming
Global warming isn't happening, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) argued over the weekend, pointing to the fact that it was snowing in Alaska in May. Obesity is on the rise-- as is the incidence of Heart Disease, Diabetes, Stroke and various forms of Cancer. And, shockingly, diseases that had in the past begun in old age are now appearing at much earlier ages.
