I’m sick of people who go, “I’m pro choice but I would NEVER have an abortion myself.” Because what you really want in an ally is a person who makes sure to separate themselves from all those other sluts who have abortion willy nilly, because women who have abortions are somehow…..wrong. In some vague way, like——if she’s a virgin, if she was really raped, (we all know she wasn’t, even though we set up the conditions where only rape victims get abortions), she was totally pure, she didn’t do anything, she didn’t like sex——oh, okay then, she can have an abortion.
That’s not an ally. Either women are human beings, period, or they aren’t. Two human beings cannot have control of the same body simultaneously———especially when one pays taxes, and another does not.
Make up your bloody mind already. That’s why the anti-choicers have gained so much ground. There’s too many piddling, pallid, half-assed, cowardly, only-if-it’s-me choicers. Just end the pretense.
