Anything but dealing with the real issues.

Allow me to fling myself through a plate glass window of your choice on a floor you chose. Never quite enough.

What the hell has religion to do with the airforce?
What do these halfwits want ?
The head of the airforce to be a bishop ,rabbi, or imam?

An end to the separation between church and state and a Christian version of Shariya law would be my guess…

Not an imam, actually. A rabbi or a bishop would do in a hurry, but they might have a preference for a minister*.

*Pardon my lack of knowledge, I don’t know the minister ranking in Protestant Churches.

7 The Ghost of a Flea  Sun, Jun 24, 2012 3:56:10pm

There’s been a long chain of incidents in the Armed Forces where commanding officers have used their position to proselytize their personal brand of politicized, apocalypse-oriented Protestantism. The Air Force is particular has a lot of this behavior going around…from the time you enter the academy onward, there’s an implicit network that pressures entrants to convert or be shut out of choice commissions and promotions.

The MRFF are pretty much constantly fighting an uphill battle about such behavior: mandatory attendance at Christian music concerts; demerits issued if you don’t go see the “inspirational” speaker; COs badgering their troops with religious tracts; “spiritual fitness” tests as part of wellness programs; and more generally the abuse of authority to force a very specific, narrow religious identity upon troops.

It sounds like the entire GOP is nothing short of fundamentalists.

And it’s terrifying.

And these are the people who fly nuclear armed aircraft. What could possibly go wrong?

Well, religion is hostile to the Air Force, at least some very influential religions are.
For example, what kind of aerospace science can we expect from people who were educated to think the Loch Ness monster disproves evolution or solar fusion is a myth? I guessw the H-bomb is a gummint hoax like the Moon landings or relativity.
Can’t we improve the range of our aircraft by adapting that magic carburetor technology the car companies have suppressed? We should take our best analysts off targeting terrorists and put them to tracking it down right now.

New Method for Producing Clean Hydrogen
Duke University engineers have developed a novel method for producing clean hydrogen, which could prove essential to weaning society off of fossil fuels and their environmental implications. While hydrogen is ubiquitous in the environment, producing and collecting molecular hydrogen for transportation and industrial uses is expensive and complicated. Just as importantly, a byproduct of most current methods of producing hydrogen is carbon monoxide, ...

WAPO’s Glenn Kessler Gives Three “Pinocchios” To Claim of Doctored Emails
It has long been part of the Washington game for officials to discredit a news story by playing up errors in a relatively small part of it. Pfeiffer gives the impression that GOP operatives deliberately tried to "smear the president" with false, doctored e-mails. But the reporters involved have indicated they were told by their sources that these were summaries, taken from notes ...

We know how to reduce the incidence of common medical conditions but …
Obesity is on the rise-- as is the incidence of Heart Disease, Diabetes, Stroke and various forms of Cancer. And, shockingly, diseases that had in the past begun in old age are now appearing at much earlier ages. A groundbreaking scientific study showed how easily (and inexpensively) the rate of occurrence of these and other serious illness could be greatly reduced-- but this information ...
