Welcome, hatchling.

Hamm has since slammed Obama’s energy policy as a failure, even though the Wall Street Journal reported that “almost all” of his wealth was generated during the president’s first term.

This is exactly why Mitt refuses to release more than a years worth of tax returns.....he doesn't want us to see how much money "This President's failed policies" have generated for the Romney family, or that he's paying a lower tax rate right now than he ever has before in his life.

No doubt. Idiot also has the nerve to try to connect with other people by saying "I'm unemployed too". Uh Mitt you've been running for president practically non stop since 2007 and are worth more than many of our families have ever been so stop it with the patronizing bullshit.

I'm starting to get very worried that he may be able to put off the release indefinitely. Is anyone in the media going to start aggressively pushing against the sheer arrogance it takes to decide that one year is really all that is needed here? I understand Obama isn't going to do it unless we're still waiting by the time debates roll around:

Romney: "Mr. President, I'm sure many want to know why you claimed executive privilege over DOJ documents from Fast and Furious, and I'd like your pledge that you will in fact release those documents to Chairman Issa's committee..." (tepid applause from audience members trying to remember who Issa is).

Obama: "Well, I'll make a deal with you, Governor. You release the past 10 years of your personal tax returns, which every other presidential candidate has done for the last 40 years, and which I've done, and I'll happily have an in-camera meeting with Chairman Issa and his committee so that we can all figure out what exactly it is that the Chairman is seeking by way of resolution here, other than to score some cheap political points."

Romney says:

He happens to look at maps of the United States [and] concludes that there must be some energy in the mountains of North Dakota and so he goes up there and starts drilling for oil.”

Which is just, well, deception.

The USGS had long ago identified the areas of western ND, eastern MT, and extending into Canada, as possible sources of petroleum. However, because of the nature of the source rock and any overlying resevoir rock it was never profitable to extract.

Only with the availability of directional drilling, and with HIGH OIL PRICES (yes, I'm screaming), did it become profitable to extract petroleum from Bakken deposit.

Mitt Romney is intentionally telling myths, ones that sells well in America, that anyone can get rich from oil, that a single man can somehow magically produce great wealth, and by implication it is only because the government (spurred on by those evil environmentalists no doubt) keeps the good stuff from patriotic Americans that we have high energy prices.

re: #5 Bubblehead II

I joined up and forgot I joined up! I kept trying to join but the rolls were closed after. Then I found my confirming email which I had saved. So here I am. I used to post on Freerepublic till I lost any ability to call myself a Republican or a freeper or an American conservative and left the party somewhere into Bush's first term. I kind of consider myself a social democrat or Christian democrat of the European kind, and I consider American right wing conservativism as it devloped today as the bat shit crazy party. Any ex-freepers who remember me say hello.

With New Mini-Satellites, Special Ops Takes Its Manhunts Into Space
Some of the beacons use infrared flashes to signal their location; in 2009, al-Qaida propagandists claimed they found them all over villages that had been hit with U.S. drone strikes. Others are implanted into seemingly-innocent commercial electronics. Under "TTL examples," Richardson's presentation (.pdf) showed pictures of a cell phone and a key fob, like the kind used to open a car. Still other ...
