Maybe the Supreme Court justices should be sequestered from the rest of Washington, DC. Maybe someplace like Montana or Iowa, where the real people live.

I guess people from New York or wherever there is education are not "real people". More allusions from the right wing that their ideological counterparts are not "real people, or real Americans".

How many people live in Montana? 8? I'm kidding. 21k do. /

These people are SCARY. The right wing does not see anyone to the left of them as real or valid humans anymore.
And they want to piss on a persons grave because why? Oh, yeah broader health care coverage for people.

re: #3 Condescending Snotty Jaun Williams Elitist

The implication also is that of they move the Supreme Court out of DC they can keep a Taliban like watch on them.

It's like they think the "big city": turns you away from their small town ways!

How ya gonna keep 'em down on the farm
After they've seen Paree'
How ya gonna keep 'em away from Broadway
Jazzin around and paintin' the town
How ya gonna keep 'em away from harm, that's a mystery

How they justify that, given that the vast majority of people live in suburbs and cities, is kinda interesting.

I've met some folks from Montana. They're lovely people. Raving liberals. Very 'real', though, and with a tendency to shoot wildlife. I would be happy to see any of them on the Supreme Court.

That was the Sarah Palin selling point. The fantasy of a nation where the 'real people' live in small towns on the edge of the Big Woods.

The hatred of urbanites gets real old. And I blame Palin for playing a big role in perpetuating that crap. Doesn't matter if you live in New York or a town of less than 100. We all are still Americans. For all their complaining about how big city politicians look down on them, they sure do a lot of looking down on people who live in big cities simply because they hate the chances that person is more liberal than themselves.

To these people deciding who and who is not a 'Real American', Animal Farm was meant to be a cautionary tale, not an instruction manual. Some animals are not more equal than others.

Their whole premise is idiotic. Legislators are very connected to their constituents; most of them go home every week. They try very hard to give the people what they want. The whole reason the Affordable Care Act was enacted was because people wanted to get insurance covering preexisting conditions, they wanted to keep their insurance if they got sick or lost their jobs, and a lot of uninsured people wanted insurance they could afford.

If these rightwing types ever had their fantasies made real they would be worse than Pol Pot's cadres trying to take Cambodia back to a rural year zero.

Sundays With the Christianists: A Biology Textbook That Explains Science Is Mostly Atheists Making Things Up
there is no history of evolution recorded either by man or by fossils. This lack of evolutionary records does not disturb most evolutionists because they believe they have a model of how evolution took place. This model is often illustrated by a phylogenetic tree -- a line-up of organisms based on how they are supposedly related in an attempt to show the path ...

We are in the midst of the worst Washington scandal since Watergate. The reputation of the Obama White House has, among conservatives, gone from sketchy to sinister, and, among liberals, from unsatisfying to dangerous. No one likes what they're seeing. The Justice Department assault on the Associated Press and the ugly politicization of the Internal Revenue Service have left the administration's credibility deeply, ...

4 Things We Should Remember When Arguing About Politics
Political discourse in America has reached levels of douchebaggery previously only theorized about but never observed, like conversational dark matter. We're in a whole new world of hating people based solely on their opinions on a few key issues, and since this is unexplored territory, our conversations about politics are usually only a couple notches beyond the "hold your breath until the other ...
