Canadian Murder Victim Found in Michigan Landfill
Police in Michigan say human remains found at a dump likely arrived in a load of garbage from Canada.
Employees at the Brent Run landfill in Montrose Township, near Flint, made the gruesome discovery Friday, reported MLive.com.
The body of an as yet unidentified man probably arrived in a shipment from Canada, Sgt. Jamie Cochran told the website, and its condition suggests the man has been dead for some time. The cause of death is not yet known.
The body was sent to Hurley Medical Center for autopsy, according to the report. American and Canadian authorities are working together on the investigation.
A spokesman for the landfill told MLive that between 60 and 80 percent of the refuse received at Brent Run originates in Canada, mostly from the Toronto area.
