This is getting tiresome. Charles, if you’re listening, can you please ban this bot? I’m sure it won’t protest.

What is your problem?

Why? Said poster doesn’t violate forum rules, far as I know. And many lizards have taken it upon themselves to start lively discussions where otherwise it would just be another bland post.

This poster is a known bot who always links to articles that are either anti-Palestinian or, like this one, ridiculously conspiratorial. Complaining that the media doesn’t mention Israel’s history of welcoming refugees when it reports on alleged immigrant abuses is like saying nobody can point out the U.S.’s troubling history on race relations without also mentioning that it was the world’s first modern democracy. Sorry, but doing something nice doesn’t automatically exempt you from everything ever.

No, but it’s reasonable to ask if coverage has been reasonably even-handed or well-informed, which some of it has not. Phoebe Greenwood, in the London Guardian, has been particularly problematic.

This is not a made-up problem, although some of what Aigle reports is silly sniping at Reuters. There is a genuine problem when there are multiple condemnatory articles claiming to go in-depth on this subject which ignore Israel’s actual history both early and recent, current available options, and the context of the region. This is not too hard for journalists to do, and they need to do it.

I realize that people are immensely hurt that Aigle continues to be a bot, but if Charles wants it gone, Charles can ban it. What it brings up is sometimes stupid, but often relevent.

You mean like posting stories that Arafat was poisoned by Polonium? That sort of ridiculously conspiratorial post?

Immensely hurt? I can only think of one group that might feel uncomfortable with these posts, and that would be anyone who doesn’t like to hear about the media bias against Israel.

Only one group is hurt by hearing the truth.

re: #4 Atlas Fails

So you don’t think that a proper reply to an article titled “Note to refugees from South Sudan: Israel is for the white man,” would to point out the truth about an immigration policy that has a long history of being blind to race?

You read that article, where Israel is accused of being a racist state and you don’t want to hear the other side? No need to, in a clear and concise way to point out the bias and inaccuracies?

Guess what? It is not an conspiracy if they really are out to get them.

And no that is not a fair comparison. It is like calling the USA a non-democracy ie a dictatorship without pointing out that it is a democracy.

OR stating that the US immigration policy as based on only allowing white people to immigrate without pointing out the long history of welcoming refugees of all races.

Take your pick.

Pope Francis Says Atheists Who Do Good Are Redeemed, Not Just Catholics
Pope Francis rocked some religious and atheist minds today when he declared that everyone was redeemed through Jesus, including atheists. During his homily at Wednesday Mass in Rome, Francis emphasized the importance of "doing good" as a principle that unites all humanity, and a "culture of encounter" to support peace. Using scripture from the Gospel of Mark, Pope Francis explained how upset Jesus' ...

Holder: We’ve Droned 4 Americans, 3 by Accident.
In an extraordinary admission, Attorney General Eric Holder has told Congress that U.S. drone strikes since 2009 have killed four Americans -- three of whom were "not specifically targeted." For all the effort that the Obama administration has gone to in asserting that its drones only kill the people that the administration intends to kill, Holder wrote in a letter today to Sen. ...

WAPO’s Glenn Kessler Gives Three “Pinocchios” To Claim of Doctored Emails
It has long been part of the Washington game for officials to discredit a news story by playing up errors in a relatively small part of it. Pfeiffer gives the impression that GOP operatives deliberately tried to "smear the president" with false, doctored e-mails. But the reporters involved have indicated they were told by their sources that these were summaries, taken from notes ...
