Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher? WTF Were They Thinking?
Jack Reacher, the hero of 18 books written by author Lee Child, is described as a six-foot-five drifter. Tom Cruise is not six-foot-five, but he’s playing Jack Reacher in the new Paramount movie “Jack Reacher.” Hollywood: Where wonders never cease!
On the heels of Cruise’s very messy breakup with Katie Holmes — and the actor’s 50th birthday — the trailer for “Jack Reacher” has debuted online. (A Russian copy leaked on the internet over the weekend.) The film stars Cruise as Reacher, a former military police major investigating the case of a military-trained sniper.
“I am not a hero,” Cruise says at one point in the new, car-heavy clip. That, combined with the violence, might give some of you flashbacks to Ryan Gosling in “Drive.” Of course, whether audiences will buy into the film after Cruise’s latest press stumble remains to be seen.

I am a HUGE fan of Lee Child, and Tom Cruise is the last person on the planet who should be cast as Jack Reacher. Are there no tall men in Hollywood?
They should have cast John Cena, or Vin Diesel.
