We can make fun all we want but gangs hijacked the hoodie just as they have colors. People have been killed for wearing the "wrong" colors in an opposing gangs turf.

I have little respect for Geraldo but on this one he is right. Hoodies are a symbol of gangs just like colors, tattoos and more.

How so? I can go out on any given day and see all sorts of people wearing hoodies: soccer moms, construction workers, college kids, and, yes, also gangsters. Ditto for tattoos. When did these things become exclusively the symbols of gangs? Or does whether or not they're perceived as gang symbols depend on the ethnicity of the person sporting them?

Do you think Zimmerman would've profiled an Asian boy or a White girl in exactly the same way if either had been wearing a hoodie? I don't.

Zimmerman to me sounds less motivated by racism (though it played a factor) than one of those bully types that wanna be cops or pyros that want to be fireman or pretend soldiers that dress up in militias.

Zimmerman has a history of being overly aggressive in reporting minor violations which tells me it was either a power trip for him or he saw minor things as major things and since he does not look crazy I go with the power trip.

Watch programs are done coordinated with police, inside cars clearly marked as watch cars and with some sort of jacket or sash identifying the people as watchmen. When Zimmerman called the police he did not identify himself as a watch patrol person. He grudgingly gave only his first name (if you are in a legit watch program when you all the police you identify yourself with your full name and your link to the watch program). That tells me he was out and about looking to get his bully jollies on by accosting some kid in the guise of him being out on patrol.

If Geraldo was right about the hoodie, then we live in a helmet-wearing retarded world. I'm packing a hoodie and moving to Florida to be put out of my misery. j/k

...

What? How is that joke in worse taste that Geraldo? Come to think about it, how is anything in worst taste than Geraldo?

re: #3 Destro

...and since he does not look crazy I go with the power trip.

Shows what you know about crazy people. What were you looking for, wild eyes? Foam dripping off their chins?

I've seen crazy people. If they're not marked by straight jackets or something, they look just like everyone else. You have no way to know from photographs. (unless they're celebrities, in which case they think its cute or something to smile in their police profiles)

You could try listening to them talk in person. But even then, you can't be sure right away. When someone is crazy but not stupid, they know how to cover and seem normal.

Ultimately, crazy is as crazy does. There really is no other way to know for certain.

I'll bet ABC will rush over to Fox and get an exclusive interview with "Golden Boy" now that he's "right" and he "told you so". Geraldo is still looking for Capone. Hack. Hack and Fox go together, as they are one and the same.

That's like saying gangs have hijacked muscle cars because gang members drive Camaros. By contrast, almost every member of my son's high school wrestling team wore a hoodie regularly during the season. Not a gang member amongst them (though they are scary...). So, the prejudice needs to be addressed, not validated.

Oh, noes! My husband and I both wore hoodies on our vacation. Good thing the I wasn't shot by the highway patrolman who answered our 911 call after a car went off the roadway and crashed into the trees since I got out of our truck while wearing my hoodie and approached his car as he pulled up. Wow, was I lucky!

I wear a hoodie for cryin out loud! Had no idea people associated those just with gang members. Good thing Zimmerman didn't live in my neighborhood. Half the boys and girls were running around in them last spring. He might have killed them all!
Uh Oh! Mark Zuckerberg! No! He's lucky he made it out of there alive.

Mark Zuckerberg. Gangbanger

My husband wears hoodies. My father wears hoodies. I have a hoodie. Little old Chinese ladies in my parents' neighborhood wear hoodies under their padded jackets.

I don't think it was the hoodie. I think it was that a young black man was wearing the hoodie.

Geraldo should just now be coming up for parole for giving away military secrets back in '03. Instead he has made millions of dollars in that time.

Sorry Geraldo but a hoodie isn't thugwear. You acted like a racist ass. Man up.
