I've said it before and I'll say it again...looking for moral relativism? Look no further than religious doctrine and practice.

Yes!! Chick Tracts! Whilst travelling through the south I collect these things wherever I can find 'em... public parks, BBQ joints, rest stops and kiosks!

Supposedly these things are the most published comic books ever which is kinda sick when you think about it.

One of my old anthropology professors used to collect "Chick Tracks."

This tract is absolutely horrible and ungrounded in reality; no wonder Chick pulled it after so many complaints.

And as we're talking about Chick Tracts, that's really saying something...

Yeah, I think this is the only one they ever pulled. And I suspect they still don't really know what's wrong with it.

Enter the Jabberwock did a series of panel-by-panel deconstructions of many Chick Tracts, including this one. I highly recommend them. They are hilariously funny, and an excellent introduction to the Chick oeuvre, which I find deeply astonishing.

Even among wingnuts, 'Lisa' had become a liability. I doubt the people who put it out would have stopped had they not come under fire from other right-wing evangelicals.

I think it's the totally counterintuitive morality of the tracts that amazes me most. Having grown up in a Catholic family, I was totally unprepared for the 'faith only, 'cause works don't count for shit' approach that rules in Chickworld.
