I don't know if I'd say it was THAT bad. It was embarrassing. it was weird. We'll get over it. After all, it's not like the guy is gonna be president.

I hope not but anything's possible.

I think Romney and Republicans in his circle were prepping him in such a way to make him project he is the leader of the free world as the next American president and he was visiting nations that conservatives treat as rightwing allies (but view them more as vassals) and I think Romney took that too heart too well in an arrogant manner. That is the best I can come up with to explain his behavior - this trip was for the Americans back home and he stepped all over the locals to project the image of Romney as the world leader.

Romney is the drunken engineer is a massive political train-wreck. Barring some sudden catastrophe, Obama will waltz into a second term. That leave us with the problem of what to do about the right wing at that point, for they will truly go berserk. Large segments of the right, egged on by a constant of fraud claims from Drudge and Fox News, will reject the election results entirely.

If Romney loses the rabid right, the word 'rabid' is unfortunately redundant, the entire right is now rabid, will simply say that Romney lost because he wasn't conservative enough, he isn't a True Conservative®.

I don't think he's the engineer. I think he's the CEO of the railroad and he's too busy sampling the inventory in the bar car to worry about actually running the place.

The engineers on the other hand had a couple of joints and a couple of lines before the train left the station. Plus they know those stupid signals on the line aren't meant for them.
