Wait till he finds out that Israeli heath care he praised (and he should it's better than the US overall) is based on an individual mandate and still highly socialized.

Of course calling Poland a shining example during the Second World War says a lot too. All the worst death camps were there and largely staffed by Poles.

Funny thing about that. While there, he lavished praise on Israel for their healthcare system

[Link: www.forbes.com...]

When our health care costs are completely out of control. Do you realize what health care spending is as a percentage of the GDP in Israel? 8 percent. You spend 8 percent of GDP on health care. And you’re a pretty healthy nation”

Continuing from the article:

With a life-expectancy rate that is the 4th best in the world (the United States is 38th) and a reputation for delivering high-quality care to all of its citizens by utilizing the most advanced medical technology available in a hospital system we can only envy from afar, Governor Romney is right to be impressed with the Israelis’ ability to deliver excellent care while keeping spending down to 8 percent of GDP as compared to 18 percent here in the United States.

If only Romney’s appreciation of Israel’s success did not fly smack in the face of his constant, ideologically based rhetoric guaranteed to insure that only the wealthiest Americans get a taste of the healthcare Israelis receive as their birthright.

Or does the Governor simply not understand that Israel’s healthcare success story—including their ability to control costs— is the direct result of the nation’s socialized healthcare system that has existed since the country’s founding in 1948 and institutionalized by law in 1995?

That probably deserves its own page LOL

Oh yes, and so does the Poland comment. I was thinking that I should pen one myself, but the topic makes me very angry.

You would do a great job on the other hand. Just state the actual history of Poland during the war. The fact that there were 3,000,000 of us there before the was and only some thousands after should be sufficient.

Ludwig, while I have your attention, can I have your opinion on the Scary Jew Shadow thread?

I thought about it, but also too angry. Especially since my grandfather was Polish, born in 1902. He hated the Poles. Never told anyone he was from Poland. They killed half his family.

Obama was criticized by Poland recently for saying something to the effect "Polish concentration camps" when they were "Nazi concentration camps". A fine line that did not exist to millions like my grandpa.

OT After college I lived on a Kibbutz that was founded by Polish Jews. I got free healthcare and haircuts.

Damn straight. And Obama got it right.

Romney used to be into free healthcare, and he was into free haircuts even before that.

Said what?

I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but if Obama had said that, what would Pam Geller be saying now?

Obama made reference to the Polish death camps and a lot of people got in a flutter. Romney said that Poland was "a shining example during the Second World War."

I wonder if Romney is aware of the concentration camp survivors who were murdered in Polish pogroms.

My very first thought.

My next thought is that these remarks are to now show the Arabs how much he hates the Jews (rolling eyes at every single nuance in my statement).
