I don't have a problem with most of this. My boss, for example, only carries kosher food, is closed on all the Jewish holidays, and carries just the local Jewish newspaper (we don't have music at all). He gives a lot to Jewish charities & is even a member of AIPAC. He fired an employee for cursing once (it was pretty vile & sexist, so I agree with that decision in spades!!) However (& here's the kicker) - there's no religion mandated at the store. The employees can wear their crosses & that one Buddhist symbol the name of which I can't remember (sorry!). He even called me specifically to fill in for someone on Xmas because I was the only Jew he knew who could do that person's job. Oh, and his partner is Muslim. & he wouldn't be caught dead contributing to the Kach party.

Ok, that was a digression, but it made my point. You can be religious, and bring those principles into your business. You can spend your profits on your religious beliefs. But the minute you start forcing them on everyone else, and actively harming those with whom you disagree - you're a jerk.

The fact that the hourly employees have a high turnover rate is meaningless.

It's fast food. It's not supposed to be a career. It's the hard job that makes you want to go and get a degree and a real career.

I would be horrified to know that anyone that I worked with at Burgerville back in the 80's is still there. I would be horrified to know they were still there three years later, for that matter.

Chick-fil-A mistreats its workers.

I would like to know if there is a fast-food restaurant anywhere on the planet that does not mistreat its workers.

Fast-food mistreats its customers too by feeding them horrible crap pretending to be "food"
