Fast Moving Wildfires Ravish Washington state; 60 homes destroyed

The raging Taylor Bridge wildfire near Cle Elum that has burned at least 60 homes and more than 28,000 acres is moving to the northeast, according to the Department of Natural Resources.
After more than a day of zero containment, DNR officials reported that 10 percent of the fire is under control Tuesday evening.
More homes, farms and ranches are in the fire’s path.

Fighting the fire will be primarily from the air this afternoon because efforts on the ground are hampered by how fast the fire is moving. KING5 has video of the destroyed homes.
The fire is proving difficult to fight.

Eastside Fire and Rescue spokeswoman Josie Williams said more than 450 people were evacuated overnight. The Department of Natural Resources said that the sheriff’s office called for additional evacuations this morning.
