Well, if he has a concealed carry permit, would he have needed to surrender the gun at a metal detector? Company policy?

My question is, what the hell was he doing carrying it loaded in such a manner that it could fall out and accidentally discharge?

Shades of Plaxico Burress.

No, he was carrying a gun in order to defend himself against all the violent lunatics who are arming themselves even now in order to turn your local cinema into a blood bath.

He should be thankful that 5 or 6 or more self defense masters of disaster didn't lock load and unload on sound.

That was thoughty of him, but the first rule of self-defense with a firearm is: don't shoot yourself in the hiney before the trouble starts.

Second rule of self-defense with a firearm: try not to shoot yourself in the hiney AFTER the trouble starts, either.

That's sad, because the most likely outcome of his shooting off his firearm in such a situation would be to kill more innocent people. But, don't take my word for it: ask any law enforcement or military personnel you can find.

He should not have been allowed to see The Purple Rose of Cairo. Evidently, it scarred him for, now, life.
