This says it all from the Plains Dealer story linked in your link:

Cleveland Democratic state Sen. Nina Turner also called Preisse's comments "flat-out racism."

"I can't say I am surprised. I truly believe this is a revelation of their true nature," Turner said. "The fact that an African-American is now president of the United States has caused some Republicans to lose their ever-loving minds and they can no longer contain themselves."

This is getting really really scary.

If you listen to GOP talk online and beyond, they think this is their last chance to win big based on the demographics they have now. After that demographics take over. So they need to cheat as much as possible to win.

The demographic trend lines are clearly against the Republican Party. But rather than work to broaden the party’s appeal, some GOP leaders have chosen instead to narrow the other party’s base under the guise of addressing a problem that does not exist. Thus, you get a campaign to gut the aforementioned Voting Rights Act of 1965. Thus, you get restrictive new Voter ID laws. Thus you get Florida (like New Mexico and Colorado) culling its voter rolls of noncitizens and somehow, apparently by sheer happenstance, targeting those most likely to vote for the other party.

Not only just words, video from Pennsylvania.

According to Preisse: ‘We shouldn’t contort the voting process to accommodate the urban — read African-American — voter-turnout machine.’
Just spoken out loud as if he was alone with the GOP Machine. Blatant is an understatement. Corrupt may be more like it.

Wow, so the GOP thinks Preisse's racism is OK as long as its off the record?

The only racism here is your pointing out our racism!

Voting day should be a national holiday or should always fall on a weekend.

I'd say make it a national holiday.

So he does admit that 'urban' is code for 'African-American'?

Interesting that, because I'm urban, and while not precisely whiter than sour cream, I'm sort of pallid.

Off the record? That's their response when one of their members espouses segregationist rhetoric. And I got news for Preisse but urban Americans are just as American as you. Just because they don't belong to your party or share your ideology doesn't make them any less American. What a crock of shit the GOP is and it's because they have members like this guy.
