I think that's true, but Romney bears some responsibility for using the incident for political gain, and his gov campaign all but identified the woman anyway. You can't drop a story like that an expect the press to be incurious.

Naming her makes it real. It happened 49 years ago, so I'm not sure who you think needs protecting.

I understand your concern. I think in this case, because of the age of incident and the seriousness of the issue, I think we need to know.
