And atheists and critics tend to deliberately cherry pick the worst of the worst and ignore the rest. At this point the high profile nature of the evangelicals in the GOP is being exploited by the critics by ignoring the more common teachings far more reasonable churches and denominations.

If it is a divine book then cherry picking it means nothing since all of it is right even in cherry picked form.

Nice try, no sale. So little of the chart reflects modern religious marriage it's irrelevant. May as well judge modern civilization just by the Indian wars.

Excuse me, the right wing is the one that brings up "biblical marriage" as the one and only. So it's a good question to ask back, what do they mean by "biblical marriage".

Cherry picking has happened for a long time. IIRC, Voltaire had an argument with a religious person, arguing on one verse. The person went on how that verse should be interpreted. When the person finished his argument, Voltaire replied by interpreting the whole passage, which included the verse. By including the whole passage, the verse changed its meaning. (I'd have to hunt my copy of the Voltaire's book I have, since I don't know where it is).

To invoke the MBF, every side does cherry picking. But it's nothing new.

The chart above actually does not cherry pick. It's a condensed version of whole passages.

Well the right wing is Christian not Jewish. Which makes excluding the new testament traditions even more wrong.
