I keep telling peers this and it does not sink in.

When the economy collapsed I pretty much saw the numbers and saw what was gone was the good paying jobs and what will remain or come back will be low paying service jobs (even nurses don't make that much).

There is some pie in the sky discussion on fraking or the new fuel industries - USA may be exporting fossil fuels in the near future - but that won't employ a fraction of the unemployed.

Learned Mother of Zion,

Well, we should think about automation and the role of automation in our lives. How has it affected the workplace and the very idea of "work?"

Maybe, we could use less automation and more workers?

Automation clearly explodes corporate profits, and there are no pesky workers to deal with let alone pay.

But, what then happens to people?
