Rightwinger smears as killers Libyans in photo who tried to rescue ambassador
I read a more detailed report about the assault on the Benghazi compound from sfgate.com:
The assault on the Benghazi compound, which includes a main building, several ancillary buildings and an annex, began about 10 p.m. local time on Sept. 11, according to the officials who briefed reporters.
In about 15 minutes the assailants had breached the perimeter guarded by Libyan security forces and began setting fire to buildings, said one of the officials.
It took Libyan security forces and U.S. personnel, repelled by flames, dark smoke and small-arms fire, four hours to regain control, the official said. By 2 a.m., three Americans were found dead inside the compound, and Ambassador Stevens couldn’t be found, the official said. Stevens had been taken to a hospital and his body was later returned to U.S. personnel at the Benghazi airport, the official said.Read more: sfgate.com
Which reminded me of what I read by Daniel Greenfield on the rightwing frontpagemag.com.
Greenfield used a picture of the ambassador being dragged by Libyans out of the compound to claim it is a “Muslim mob” composed of an “equal number of beardos and non-beardos” positioning the body for torture/murder as they take photos.
It is clearly a rescue attempt by the Libyans in the photo who are smeared by Greenfield as his killers in light of the San Fran Chronicle’s more detailed report. The picture is available at the frontpagemag.com link. I did not want to re-post picture here in deference to the ambassador.
Daniel Greenfield: The Torture and Murder of Ambassador Chris Stevens (Graphic)
We don’t yet know the entire story of how the Ambassador died, but the images of his body being dragged around by a Muslim mob have an ominous similarity to similar images of how Gaddafi was killed. The latest reports say that he did not die of gunshot wounds, but of suffocation, that would mean that he was likely manually killed.
The Libyan mob, which by the way has an equal number of beardos and non-beardos, belying the notion that this was purely a Salafist attack, dragged around the body and took cell phone photos of it. In the photo above, one member of the mob is repositioning the Ambassador, perhaps still alive, with a cell phone in his mouth in preparation for taking more photos.
I just wanted to set the record striaght at such a horrible smear by Greenfield. The use of the term “beardos and non-beardos” is equally vile.
