right winger gets to use the N word to describe Obama without getting in trouble

As reprehensible as D’Souza is, it seems he only uses the N-word when directly quoting Obama's own words. Not to "describe" Obama as you claim.

This entire thesis of D'Souza is idiotic. Obama's book is nowhere near what D'Souza portrays it as being.

He gets to associate the N word with Obama in an oblique manner. Dog whistle stuff.

The book is a dog whistle attempt to use a 'scholarly' approach to try and portray Obama as a black African anti-white radical. That's what Breitbart was up to before he keeled over - the whole 'vetting' (i.e. show Obama's link to black radicalism) he was planning to do on Obama that he said was not done the first time.

Is there anyone more oppressed in modern America than rich job-creator white men?

I'm going to disagree respectfully with your #3 (your #4 is entirely correct). D'Souza is quite blunt enough in other places to have no need of dog whistles; He calls the racists openly. So I don't think he plays around with the n-word, as it would gain him no real advantage.

It's Ok to disagree on what is or not dog whistle stuff. It's not easy to figure out. I used to deny that the GOP policies of smaller govt were sometimes just dog whistle ways of saying no more money for minorities, etc until I woke up.

Maybe, but pointing out black usage of the n-word in such a way has become commonplace on the right, in order to bolster their assertion that the real racists today are blacks. And that whites are somehow persecuted because there's one word in the English language--ni**er--that blacks can get away with using more than whites.

Scientists Agree on Climate Change, Why Doesn’t the Public? : NPR
A new study confirms that the vast majority of scientists who research the climate accept that the planet is warming and human beings are largely responsible. Yet a large slice of the American public believes that scientists are deeply split about global warming. More: Scientists Agree on Climate Change, Why Doesn't the Public? : NPR

Your Weekly Peggy Noonan Three Martini Column
We are in the midst of the worst Washington scandal since Watergate. The reputation of the Obama White House has, among conservatives, gone from sketchy to sinister, and, among liberals, from unsatisfying to dangerous. No one likes what they're seeing. The Justice Department assault on the Associated Press and the ugly politicization of the Internal Revenue Service have left the administration's credibility deeply, ...

4 Things We Should Remember When Arguing About Politics
Political discourse in America has reached levels of douchebaggery previously only theorized about but never observed, like conversational dark matter. We're in a whole new world of hating people based solely on their opinions on a few key issues, and since this is unexplored territory, our conversations about politics are usually only a couple notches beyond the "hold your breath until the other ...

LAPD Reformed as Federal Oversight Lifted, City Leaders Say
Los Angeles leaders say the Los Angeles Police Department has undergone a dramatic transformation since federal oversight of the agency was ordered 12 years ago. The dismissal Wednesday of the so-called consent decree, which arose largely out of the Rampart corruption scandal and addressed basic problems of accountability that stretched back decades, delivered a largely symbolic, but nonetheless important milestone for the LAPD ...

Seems a good way to solicit ideas for touristing destinations and activities. Will have 4-5 days so some opportunity for visiting multiple sites. I hate to have to point this out, but: I DID NOT WRITE THIS ESSAY. I'm just READING IT ALOUD.
