White House spokesman Eric Schultz :

If Republicans still have any legitimate questions about Fast and Furious, this 450-page report answers them. In light of this thorough report and Congress’s 16 month-long investigation, Republicans have no excuse to keep wasting time and taxpayer resources on politically-motivated, election-year attacks.

I have a feeling that won't slow them down.

It does not cover off the letter from the DOJ that was sent to congress and then had to be withdrawn. That letter was done after Holder learned of the death of the agent and was filled will errors.

It is a serious matter to lie to Congress.

The February 2011 letter said that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives makes "every effort" to interdict weapons that have been purchased illegally before they cross into Mexico. It added that the allegation that the ATF had "sanctioned or otherwise knowingly allowed the sale of assault weapons" to suspicious people was false.

Bet everyone would like to forget about that, huh?

Interesting headline.
Not very honest given the context, but informative as to the motives of the writer at CNN.

5 cinesimon  Wed, Sep 19, 2012 1:26:31pm

Buck, he didn't "lie to congress". It is you who are lying by suggesting such. And it's telling that you pretend to have already read the 450 page document.
Grow the hell up. You are too see-through to actually be able to make an argument in favor of your extremism.

Why are right wingers hot on Obama on this when most of these programs are carry over from the Bush era?

I'm not here to speak for RWnutz.
But the following still matters.
Responsibility for a program is not limited to whoever started it, those who follow on and continue it are also held responsible for the actions of the people under them.

Indeed. I can accept this report and I think its best to discipline (preferably fire) the people who screwed up and then close the book on this matter. The BATFE seriously screwed up in this case, and it needs to not happen again, but Holder wasn't part of the screw-up.

True that.

re: #9 Buck

But was he part of the cover up?

All evidence points to 'No'.

Actually there is NO evidence one way or the other on this.

You are looking at the results of an internal investigation. There are a lot of holes in this investigation. I am pointing out a big one.

So you agree that there's no evidence of a cover-up. Excellent. Now we are getting somewhere.

Growing, Lurking Threat: ‘Paper Terrorism’
How do you stop one anti-government extremist from coordinating a trillion dollar "paper terrorism" scheme involving a raft of false financial documents, or deal with another who sues prosecutors for allegedly conspiring against him by using poor grammar? This is the question that state governments and federal agencies are faced with, ever since a surge of people who consider themselves "sovereign citizens" began ...

Video: Mall Cop and Woman Fight Over Picture-Taking on Mall Property
How NOT to confront a group of people taking pics. The guard was probably withing her rights as the people were on private property, and management gets to disallow if they wish. But the nuance here is the people were taking pics from mall property not of mall property. Fortunately no guns were involved. But a genuine cop would have made all the difference. ...

We are in the midst of the worst Washington scandal since Watergate. The reputation of the Obama White House has, among conservatives, gone from sketchy to sinister, and, among liberals, from unsatisfying to dangerous. No one likes what they're seeing. The Justice Department assault on the Associated Press and the ugly politicization of the Internal Revenue Service have left the administration's credibility deeply, ...

4 Things We Should Remember When Arguing About Politics
Political discourse in America has reached levels of douchebaggery previously only theorized about but never observed, like conversational dark matter. We're in a whole new world of hating people based solely on their opinions on a few key issues, and since this is unexplored territory, our conversations about politics are usually only a couple notches beyond the "hold your breath until the other ...
