Lots of folks running about the planet with their braids tied a bit too tight. SLC to Lahore.

Whoa. Apostasy? Mitt is god or something? Who knew?

I hope these dolts realize they aren't doing Romney any favours. Smacking down someone's freedom of speech is not going to endear them to most Americans, save the usual suspects.

Church and State all wrapped up in One. Your GOP blueprint, except for the denomination.

All Mormons in good standing are Gods, or at least they believe that they will be one after death.

Women too?

OK, I don't know the full details here, but looking over the website in question it is clear that its purpose is to reveal everything about Mormonism to be a hoax or worse. So the characterization of the site as trying to foster open discussion about Mormonism is clearly false: it aims to actively debunk. The site even links to the site of a couple of ex-Mormons who claim that there is a Satanic murderous cult within the Church hierarchy.

The page about Mitt Romney asks the question whether Romney's religion would require a President Romney to answer to the Pope LDS Leadership.

So I guess if one believes in excommunicating people from your religion, then this seems like the kind of website that might justify it.

I didn't realize that supporting Mitt Romney's campaign was a tenet of the LDS church.

Why doesn't this protection seem to apply to Harry Reid?

I don't think that's a fair characterization of it. I just looked it over and it mostly is about how mainstream Mormonism differs from history, and how it conflicts with science. It also sheds light on the Church's evolving positions over time.

The link to the couple is the only questionable thing I saw there. The rest of it certainly seems to be aimed at promoting discussion, unless you think that pointing out ahistorical and contradictory aspects of a religion doesn't promote discussion.

I don't know. The site rings alarm bells for me. It looks too much like sites I've seen about Catholicism and Judaism, where they just want to 'discuss', but will never fact check any allegation, no matter how insane, just mention that 'critics allege that'.

But it seems that he's still in fairly good communication with the church if they can get him to sit down and think they can tell him stuff.
