Cannot believe we have to find loopholes to help people vote.

"Good" as to the article or to that fact the law is not as tight as some folks would like it to be? I personally would like to see this law declared illegal.

The Pennsylvania Department of State, which oversees elections, described the move Friday as legal but inappropriate.

"It's clearly contrary to the intent of the law," said spokesman Ron Ruman. "We believe it raises tremendous safety and liability issues. If my child attended a school that was giving out such IDs, I would have serious concerns." What this lackey meant to say was;
"If my elected officials were attempting to keep a specific group of people from voting who have the right to vote, well, I have no problem with that."

Ideally the current law should be shot down and if something is needed the new is well thought out, well written, and implemented right after an election in order to maximize the time to get the system in place and IDs issued before the next election.

And these actions pointing out a hole in the law that is being acted upon might also get the judiciary's attention regarding the shortcomings of the law as enacted.

I also wonder why such a clause was put in there anyways? CYA action that was not expected to be picked up on by anyone?

Perhaps what he meant to say was: "if my daughter's nice, safe, [white], private college started issuing IDs to poor [black] persons, I would find it a tremendous safety issue because people like that frighten me and I want them to be kept far away from my daughter."

(Yes, I looked this guy up: white, catholic, lives in York County, wife an elementary school teacher, one daughter).

I have a hard time thinking they are not bigots and worse. There was a time Catholics were discriminated against. Guess he forgot that.

I love how the state of PA makes certain voters take an oath to obtain something that is within everyone's right as an American citizen. Or pay $13.50.

Ah, sweet commonwealth, home of corrupt special interests and dopey regulations.

Good that the dumbshits that are passing these laws are getting beat at their own game.
