If Romney has lost Thomas Friedman he's lost every sane conservative in America.

I had thought about titling the link "Out of the Closet" for the reason above, but on further consideration I decided it would be a little over the top!

If Romney has lost Thomas Friedman he's lost every sane conservative in America.

David Frum (relatively sane) says he still expects to vote for Romney. (Though he did qualify it slightly with "probably".)

Like many Democrats, Friedman supported the Iraq war. But he is a moderate Democrat all the way.

If I remember correctly, Friedman is one of those people who considers himself a "radical centrist," whatever the hell that means.

He means, that centrists are the true radicals in today's polarized world. By "centrists," I think he means people who can see complexity, nuance, and several points of view not just a black/white and therefore false image of the world.

Incidentally that's a term which may have originated in Israel.

This complexity doesn’t argue for isolationism. It argues for using our power judiciously and in a nuanced fashion.

I recall in the Bush-Kerry election nuances in policy were attacked by right wingers as something evil. They hated that idea. I don't know why. It is as if because Bush was limited mentally for 8 years the GOP faithful decided to also limit themselves mentally to give cover to Bush's limitation.

It's as if the emperor being naked, the entourage also stripped down so as to give nakedness a cover.
