I can't wait to buy this and keep it next to my Joy Division oven gloves.

End of the world my ass. The Ramones always wanted to be the biggest band in the world. Anyone who agrees with this writer's take should listen to what Henry Rollins had to say about Iggy & the Stooges licensing Search & Destroy for Nike 15 years ago, or Pete Townshend excoriating a writer who suggested that people hearing Who songs on advertisements would have their perceptions of his songs changed by hearing them used to hawk commercial products.

Let me know when Starbucks sells Slayer's CDs.

It won't be the end of the world if they do that, either.

I don't think "end of the world" means what you think it means.

I don't think "end of the world" means what you think it means.

Emphasis mine.

Richard Hell & the Dead Boys were on major labels. So were the Sex Pistols and Public Image. The Dickies & X. The Replacements, and Husker Du. Were they all sellouts also? 35 years ago Arista was like Starbucks in that it was a really annoying business concern, and Barry Manilow was no less ubiquitous. Didn't stop Patti Smith, Lou Reed, and Iggy Pop from signing with them.

If I were to go into a Starbucks and hear an Angry Samoans record, I'd think it odd, but my first thought would be that a band that deserved more than they got managed to find an audience and maybe even a few shekels. I saw the masses make bands like the Clash and Nirvana popular in spite of themselves, and seeing Starbucks put out a Ramones CD doesn't bother me nearly as much as having seen that sort of thing a long time ago already.
