I got hela lots of downdings for calling Thomas Sowell (a right winger) an Uncle Tom when he said Obama's re-election loss would cause black race riots. What Sowell said was one of the most pro KKK like lines I have ever heard and it was coming from a black man who spouts right wing rhetoric. So why that got so much down ding I don't know.

But I did not know how else to classify Thomas Sowell, a black man, saying that his own demographic would rise up and race riot against whites if Obama loses.

That is right out of some KKK fantasy scenario. So how else should I have classified it beyond nuts? Because it was more than just crazy talk - it';s racist crazy talk from a right winger who is black designed to demean his own people.

Thomas Sowell - Race Riots if Obama Loses (I don't understand why a black man - right wing or left wing) would say such a racist affirming thing.

You got your answer over here. Are you still confused?

I posted this around the same time before it was answered. It kind of makes sense it's like the N word. It only is to be used by people who are from that culture and background and not for outsiders. Makes sense and I agree upon reflection. I will delete my above comment.

This is a good piece by Coates. I particularly liked his point about Shirley Sherrod where she was not just said to be racist but gleefully engaging in racial revenge. I am still mad about that incident. Fucking Breitbart. And of course that the actual farmer in question stood up for her and the right wing assholes attacked him too for doing so.

When I first read the subject title, I thought someone was ripping on the movie for having an all-white cast or something. No, the Hulk doesn't count as "green" anymore than Michael Jackson counted as "white." But I digress.

As a voter in Kentucky told George Packer when asked about Obama, “I think he would put too many minorities in positions over the white race. That’s my opinion.”

Kentucky? Are you sure they didn't mean Colorado? Because that is so Eric Cartman.

"Too many minorities in positions," bah! Policies and ideas matter, not skin pigmentation. And these deep south types wonder why us yankees think they're ignorant or something. **spoiler** Its because of that redneck-style tribal mentality.

 Frank says:

Interviewer:
The notion of a "guitar solo" has preconceptions based on it; people automatically refute it because it's supposed to be self-indulgent or "for musicians." It's almost like things become iconographic and somehow lose their value for outsiders.

Zappa:
Well, whose fault is that? That's what writers do. Musicians don't do that. The average person doesn't sit around thinking about the "iconographic problems of a guitar solo." -- Interview for Musician magazine, by Matt Resnicoff, November 1991. Reprinted in July 1995 Issue.
