I am not sure. Still looks like a cloth. But someone said he rushed back to podium at the end and gave his son something.

If it is cloth, it is a very stiff piece of cloth. It doesn't droop when not fully supported (0:55 in the film.) The corners remain crisp points.
And what would the purpose of a piece of cloth be? He's hardly going to mop his brow in the middle of the debate. If he were, having a handkerchief discreetly ready on the podium wouldn't make it any less obvious.

edited to add: You could also make notes on a handkerchief if you wanted to...

I read a report that Romney gave notes to a son after the debate. Where was it.

At that point it didn't strike me as strange or wrong that he'd have notes.

Hmmmm. I think the debaters were provided with paper to scribble on during the debates, maybe that was it?

OTOH who knows?

Unfortunately, probably not true.

I guess the handkerchief was well-starched; just like its owner!

I'm sorry but I think this is nonsense and it makes our side look as deranged as the rwnj's.

It looks like a handkerchief to me, and Romney was seen using it during the debate.

Lets check his palms, maybe he pulled a Sarah. /

Maybe his hands get sweaty.

7 The Mongoose  Fri, Oct 5, 2012 2:28:51pm

The author of the original piece has now admitted it was a handkerchief. Amazing that he couldn't wait a few hours to check this before publishing his piece and making a fool out of himself.

Q: Did Romney cheat?

A: No.

9 Destro  Fri, Oct 5, 2012 8:32:54pm

Romney tossed a handkerchief. Romney is an asshole, not stupid.

Also, that bulge in W. Bush's suit that people were saying was some sort transmitting device to help Bush in the debates was probably the body armor presidents wear or some sort of monitor for the president's heart rate, etc which the SS does not want to make public knowledge about.

Q: Did Romney cheat?

A: No.

Unless you count baldfaced lying as cheating.

Bush had a low resting pulse. He, like Obama and Romney, was quite fit for his age.

Monitoring the pulse isn't done by putting a device over the heart anyway. Cmon. It was body armor.
