Kelly Slater Wins Quiksilver Pro France 2012!
Twenty years is a long, long time to wait for a win in France. Three hours is long time to wait for shop to open again after lunch. Three weeks is a long time to wait for a contractor to come and fix a leaky tap. But 20 years is longer, and 20 years is sufficient passage of history for a man to say, win eleven ASP World Titles, lose many of his friends and all of his hair.
With this win, Kelly’s campaign for a 12th World Title gains even more momentum. Two straight victories against the toughest, most talented field of surfers that has ever been assembled in ASP history. At age 40, Kelly is schooling the new generation as well as the seasoned vets. Nothing seems to slow him down or diminish his enthusiasm and that has to be a formidable mindset to come up against at this point in the title race.
