Oct. 7: National Polls Show Signs of Settling
According to Silver, if the election had been held the morning after the debate it’s possible that Romney would have had an even chance of winning. But now the polls seem to have settled after Romney’s bounce (and Friday’s jobs report). If the election were held today, Silver gives Romney a 11.4% of winning—which is still up from the 2% he had a few days ago. (Silver gives him a 22% chance of winning on Nov. 6.)
