I complained when Pew put out their last poll showing Obama up 9, and I think this one is off too. Both polls have captured an odd party identification split that doesn't appear to realistically reflect the state of the electorate.

Gallup, Rasmussen and Battleground (a personal favorite as it's a project run by a team of two pollsters, one from each party) all show the race tied or within a point. That seems to be a decent reflection of where the race currently stands. That's not to say Mr. Romney won't pick up more steam over the next few days...he still appears to have some momentum.

Look at the cross tabs. They seemingly decided for this poll and this poll only that Hispanics won't vote for either major party candidate.

"Registered voters by more than 3-to-1 — or 66% to 20% — said Romney did a better job than Obama in their first presidential debate last week in Denver. Romney was generally viewed as more aggressive and forceful in their debate on the economy and domestic issues, while Obama sometimes lacked focus. Romney never lost focus. He beat down the "old" Romney and held up a "new" Romney. Or he lied his ass off. I'll go with the latter. He lied his ass off.
