It's a rather nuanced thing for the news media report. It's mentioned in an opinion piece in the Jpost:
The Palestinian Authority's sorry state
9/12/2012
a blog in the Jpost:
Temple Mount under attack
9/30/2012
It's mentioned by Camera and now it's linked at LGF. Now I know about it. I agree and am aware of the "Palestinian Authority's sorry state."
The media probably should do a better job of reporting things like this. But you know, I think everyone agrees that the media in general is also in a sorry state. It's all about cliches and revenue generation.

Hehe... I knew it - from the CAMERA link:
Jerusalem was founded as the Jewish capital by King David approximately three thousand years ago.
Well, that is the myth that the Herodian era rulers wished to propagate.

Sure but there is this from my first Jpost link:
No headlines were generated when Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas recently insisted that there would be no peace unless Jews were “evacuated from Jerusalem, our holy city and the eternal capital of our state.”
Seems rather belligerent to me. This is not the standard. Jerusalem is for the Palestinian AND Jewish people.
