They use 'pro-life' for the same reason Communist dictatorships call themselves 'Democratic Republics.' To fake out people stupid enough to fall for such Orwellian language. Also it allows them to delude themselves that they are doing this for good reasons nor are they working out their sexual frustrations on others. There is no pursuit of power involved either.

So science has advanced to the point where if a woman with, say, cancer gets pregnant they can cure the cancer without harming the fetus?
Wow. You'd think the media would be all over this incredible breakthrough. {rolls eyes}

Joe Walsh of Eagles fame should sue this Joe Walsh for defamation of character. This guy is a creep and bastard of the Nth degree.

Always fatal*. To both mother and fetus.

One percent of pregnancies are ectopic.

*if not aborted

Yes, what with science having recently overcome DEATH, I guess we don't need those life of the mother exceptions anymore.

//For a bunch of secular Muslim atheists, those scientists do some cool stuff.

Lets see, ectopic pregnancy, cancer, leukemia, preeclampsia, severe diabetes, heart disease, or trauma from car accidents can all require abortion in order to save the life of the mother. I'm sure there are more, but those are all that came to mind immediately. I'm surprised Rep. Walsh is not familiar with at least one of these conditions, then again he is a misogynist troll, so why would he know anything about women?

Look guys, a woman is just a walking womb, and isn't really alive the way a man is. If the baby is a boy, then you have a net gain of one life, even if the mother "dies." If the baby is a girl, then no loss; you've just replaced one womb with another. Its a win-win!/

There's a degree of denial with some of these more extreme cases that I simply don't understand. I get being pro-life. I even get, although it's harder for me, the idea that some people consider that they can't choose between a life and a life in a situation where you abort or the mother dies. What I do not get is the ability of some people to pretend that there are no life-threatening pregnancies.

The only theories I can come up with are that they either live in such a deep fantasy world, where things are lovely if you live a good life and there are no hard moral decisions, that they actually believe this, or that they realize that if they say bluntly, 'yes, there will be situations where women will die, and the fetus too, and that's going to have to be OK', they will lose support even from other pro-life people.
