2 Tiny Alien Kitties are Watching You  Mon, Oct 29, 2012 5:26:00am

What a pile of stinking rumor mongering shit that story is...

The Washington Times got the "story" from (dim) Jim Hoft.
(dim) Jim Hoft got the "story" from TigerDroppings.
TigerDroppings got the "story" from one of its forum members.
The forum member supposedly got it from an anonymous military person.

What started this whole thing?

I heard a story today from someone inside the military that I trust entirely...

...The information I heard today was that General Ham as head of Africom received the same e-mails the White House received requesting help/support as the attack was taking place. General Ham immediately had a rapid response unit ready and communicated to the Pentagon that he had a unit ready.

General Ham then received the order to stand down. His response was to screw it, he was going to help anyhow. Within 30 seconds to a minute after making the move to respond, his second in command apprehended General Ham and told him that he was now relieved of his command. [Link: www.tigerdroppings.com...]

If you believe one word of this "general placed under arrest 30 seconds after disobeying orders" crap I have a bridge to sell you cheap. They are really getting fucking desperate to slime Obama before the elections aren't they?

re: #2 Tiny Alien Kitties are Watching You

Desperately sad and pathetic. Lies R us is the new GOP motto, and lizards should know better than to fall for Jim Hoft's brand of craptrappery.

I'm glad they are too stupid to keep their stories straight, here is Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R -Ut) on Fox saying General Ham told him he was never even requested to take action. So yesterday the story was that Ham did nothing because he was not requested to do anything (White house being at fault), today the story is that Ham did nothing because he was ordered not to (even worse white house being at fault).

Oh, for Pete's sake. An article from the white nationalist Washington Times crediting the stupidest blogger on the Internet, Jim Hoft?

This right wing wing fake outrage is getting utterly ridiculous.

As a retired Marine I can assure you that if General Ham had indeed been placed under arrest it would be all over the Military Times (not to mention several thousand milblogs). You can't keep something like that secret for more than...five seconds?

A textbook example of the "throw something at the wall and see if it sticks" school of journalism.

This article is pure fantasy.

A 12-Year-Old’s Trek of Despair Ends in a Noose at the Border
Noemi Álvarez Quillay took the first steps of the 6,500-mile journey to New York City from the southern highlands of Ecuador on Tuesday, Feb. 4, after darkness fell. A bashful, studious girl, Noemi walked 10 minutes across dirt roads that cut through corn and potato fields, reaching the highway to Quito. She carried a small suitcase. Debate Discrimination - Houston Chronicle
We're glad to see Mayor Annise Parker finally stand up and propose a human rights commission that will provide local due process for victims of public discrimination. Parker told the Chronicle editorial board that she plans to release a formal version of her proposal within the next few weeks, but sometimes the process is just as important as the result. As the energy ...

Russ Campbell’s Blog: Bill C-23, Fair Elections Act Seems Now on Solid Ground
Now that a Senate committee has recommended nine changes to Bill C-23, Fair Elections Act, the legislation seems pretty solid. And, since Pierre Poilievre has, apparently, indicated privately that he's open to changes, an amended version of the bill will likely become law by this summer. We would probably have gotten to this point earlier had not the minister responsible for the bill ...

Why the Temperature of the Yellow Sea Is a Big Deal, and Other Questions About the South Korean Ferry Disaster
The boat ran into trouble several dozen miles from Jindo, an island that sticks out of South Korea's southwestern corner like a little toe. Jindo is surrounded by a group of even smaller islands that are slightly farther afield from the mainland. The ferry was curving around those small islands at the time it issued a distress call. What caused the disaster? We ...

Calgary stabbings: How knife crime in Canada can cause ‘moral panic’
What Calgary police chief Rick Hanson called the "worst mass murder" in the city's history didn't end at the barrel of a gun. Instead, the 22-year-old suspect identified on Tuesday as Matthew de Grood is accused of entering the kitchen at a house party, taking "a large knife" and using it to fatally stab four men and one woman, all of whom were students ...

New York Electoral College: State Joins National Popular Vote Interstate Compact.
Ben Mathis-Lilley, Slate: New York Electoral College: State Joins National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. Instead of pushing for a Constitutional amendment, which would have to be ratified in 38 states, advocates ask individual state legislatures to pass an agreement: that they'll pledge all their presidential electors to the winner of the national popular vote as soon as enough other states pass the law to ...

The Insane History of Rockets at Jet Propulsion Laboratories
The Rocket Boys In the late 1930s, a group of Caltech graduate students were booted off campus after blowing up (part of!) their building during a rocket test gone awry. Unwilling to give up on the joy of semi-controlled explosions, the students and a few of their friends headed into the San Gabriel Mountains. They picked a deserted gully -- Arroyo Seco -- ...
