Tablet Users Older Than Smartphone Users
Tablet owners are generally older and more often female than their smartphone-toting counterparts, according to new data from mobile analytics firm Flurry.
Those with a tablet also tend to use their device more often during the evenings and for longer periods of time than smartphone users, the company found. In addition, tablet owners consume more media and entertainment, with large portion of time on their device spent playing games.
As for age, the average tablet owner is 34 years old, while just one-third are younger than 25. In comparison, smartphone users are 30 years old, on average, and only about a quarter are older than 34. The differences in age are most prominent among the 55 and older set, with 17 percent of users in that age range owning a tablet, compared to just 7 percent who have a smartphone.
