Palestinian Leader Abbas Affirms Hope for State in Pre-1967 Lines

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has insisted his aim is to establish a Palestinian state only alongside Israel’s pre-1967 boundaries with the West Bank and Gaza.

Israel recently accused him of seeking to supplant its sovereign territory.

But Mr Abbas, who was born in the town of Safed, told Israeli TV he accepted it was now part of Israel and that he would have no right to residency there.

Palestinians have historically demanded the right of return for refugees.

I assume this has something to do with the statehood bid at the UN. Interesting. Veeery interesting. Wonder how this connects to Kaddoumi's comments about the WB returning to Jordan.

Also, I did not know Abbas was from Tzfat.

(Additionally, I have just learned that there is an Israeli soccer player who is also named Mahmoud Abbas. This is a completely irrelevant piece of information, but I do find it interesting somehow.)

So let's get this straight- 60 plus years later, after a war started by the Arabs, decades of terror, Arab world state sponsored hate, bigotry and calls to genocide, and Palestinian corruption and violence directed at their own, Abbas wants a do over- everybody turns back the clock.

Oh yeah, that make sense.

And he's 'giving up' the Palestinians 'right of return'?

You watch every single other country in the UN but the US (& Canada?) hail this as a magnanimous sacrifice in the interests of peace. Just wait.
