Christ, these people really did live inside of the bubble. I mean, I knew this after Romney's Benghazi thing (Please proceed, Governor) disaster, but I honestly didn't think they believed their own bullshit.

This is very bad for democracy and for a two party system. As Maddow said the other night, how do we come to terms to fix our problems when the two sides are arguing over facts?

I find this pretty scary. And I am hugely thankful that Romney did not get elected as his cluelessness is truly epic in nature. Imagine that cluelessness in an American president!! It heartens me that so many people saw through him.

I just had another thought.

For years, I really thought that all the talkers on Fox, Limbaugh, Beck, et al, were just bullshit artists, solely out to make a buck (I still believe this, to a degree), but this whole thing was really a wake up call that these people truly believe all the bullshit they spew. The hatred is real. The animosity and fear of whites not being a majority, and the male not being the commander of it all, is really how they feel (I can't wrap my mind around Coulter, Ingraham, and the other Fox babes and how they reconcile what they do, just as I never could with Phyllis Schlafly, who felt that women belonged in the kitchen...all women but her, apparently).

It is such a bizarre mindset that I cannot fathom it. But I now believe that all these people truly buy into their own bullshit - it is how their minds work.

I don't know what is scarier...that they were selling it for money or that they actually believe it.

You've got to remember that Romney has always been a CEO, and it's obvious that his style is to surround himself with "yes men and women", so all he ever hears is exactly what he wants to hear. You could see it in his face every time a reporter dared to ask him a question that wasn't on his approved list.

Good riddance, and I hope he enjoys riding up and down in his car elevator. I'm going to enjoy never seeing his condescending sneer ever again.

There Is No Such Thing Really as Professional Photographers
there's no such thing as Flickr Pro, because today, with cameras as pervasive as they are, there is no such thing really as professional photographers, when there's everything is professional photographers. Certainly there is varying levels of skills, but we didn't want to have a Flickr Pro anymore, we wanted everyone to have professional quality photos, space, and sharing." - Marissa Mayer, Yahoo ...

WAPO’s Glenn Kessler Gives Three “Pinocchios” To Claim of Doctored Emails
It has long been part of the Washington game for officials to discredit a news story by playing up errors in a relatively small part of it. Pfeiffer gives the impression that GOP operatives deliberately tried to "smear the president" with false, doctored e-mails. But the reporters involved have indicated they were told by their sources that these were summaries, taken from notes ...

Men Are Being Sexually Assaulted in the Military, but Nobody Is Talking About It — the Good Men Project
Our Soldiers are being raped...by our Soldiers. In the U.S. Military, annually, more men are being raped by men than women are being raped by men. I state this fact, articulating it in this manner, not to diminish what these women are enduring but to raise the level of awareness and discourse to fully include the men; they have been dropping through the ...

CSOPE Classroom Curriculum System Dies Amid Criticism
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - A classroom curriculum system used by hundreds of Texas school districts will stop offering lesson plans after some conservative groups claimed it was promoting anti-American values. We know how to reduce the incidence of common medical conditions but …
Obesity is on the rise-- as is the incidence of Heart Disease, Diabetes, Stroke and various forms of Cancer. And, shockingly, diseases that had in the past begun in old age are now appearing at much earlier ages. A groundbreaking scientific study showed how easily (and inexpensively) the rate of occurrence of these and other serious illness could be greatly reduced-- but this information ...

Your Weekly Peggy Noonan Three Martini Column
We are in the midst of the worst Washington scandal since Watergate. The reputation of the Obama White House has, among conservatives, gone from sketchy to sinister, and, among liberals, from unsatisfying to dangerous. No one likes what they're seeing. The Justice Department assault on the Associated Press and the ugly politicization of the Internal Revenue Service have left the administration's credibility deeply, ...

 Frank says:

There were 45 men in the jail cell, the toilet and shower had never been cleaned, the temperature was 110 degrees so you couldn't sleep night or day, there were roaches in the oatmeal, sadistic guards, and everything that was nice. -- Zappa 1969 interview. This had happened during the days of Studio Z in Cucamonga (1963). Frank was released on bail (his father took out a bank loan to pay for it). Frank had been busted for "conspiracy to commit pornography," after making a silly recording of suggestive sexual sounds (giggling edited out) for someone who had asked him to provide a "special" tape recording for a stag night. That someone turned out to be Detective Willis of the San Bernadino Vice Squad. Their conversation was recorded by a hidden microphone and this was used as evidence at Zappa's trial.
