Florida Tea Party Candidate West tries to impound ballot boxes
A Republican congressman demanded that all ballots and voting machines in his district be impounded for a recount; the Palm Beach County Election Board immediately filed an objection.
Allen West, a Tea Party favorite, appears to have lost his race for re-election.
South Florida media had West 2,456 votes behind his Democratic challenger, Patrick Murphy, out of more than 300,000 votes cast.
That margin is not quite close enough to trigger a mandatory recount.
