People, people, we've been over this. You know that new Daniel Day-Lewis movie coming out? Yeah, that. We've been over this. The answer is still no.

What we should do is sponsor democratic emigration to Texas and hasten the demographic end of the Republican party there.

No, no, no. A thousand times NO.

There are a LOT of sane voters in the state of Texas, and the demographics are rapidly changing, even with the rightwingers' attempts to tilt the playing field. By 2016 - 2020 at the latest, the number of Latino voters will more than offset the neo-Confederate uber-religious old white guys who are currently running the state.

Honestly, we just need to get a couple of witty, intelligent Texans to fill the void that the passings of Ann Richards and Molly Ivins left.

I see that Louisiana has just jumped on board the succession bandwagon, too.

If they leave, can we have back all the billions we spent there on hurricanes Katrina and Issac?

Um HELLO! I am still in Texas. So are a few others here! Don't do this to us!
Texas is actually a pretty great state once you get past the crazies, and has the potential to be even better.

You're not going to get off that easily. I just read that a third generation Bush from the Florida Bushs has just filed papers to run for some Texas office. I'd be willing to jettison the whole state just to stop that cancer from affecting the rest of the US.

I notice they did not capitalize Obama.......

I say they can leave as soon as they pay us back for Katrina and Issac, plus interests. We are not communists after all.......

They owe us more than that. Since Louisiana is one of the "taker" states, they owe the rest of us around $203 billion for the last 15 years or so of taking more federal money than they pay in.

Over my dead body will Texas secede. Most of us feel the same way. This idea is going nowhere.

You better hurry and get to some other state before they withdraw , Or you will have to get on a waiting list to emigrate to the U.S. lol

Seriously.

Just because a bunch of ignorant motherfuckers in this state don't know their own history and think we can just secede at will or split into a bunch of states or whatever because Texas is supposedly a special snowflake unto its own doesn't mean that all of us in Texas agree with them.

Personally, I'd rather see these pro-secessionist dipshits self-deport to Somalia or whatever other sovereign citizen paradise they want to live in and leave the rest of us alone.

Skip Intro,

Do these guys really want to start another civil war? Its not like the US is a dictatorship. They don't have to leave the country to have their voices heard.
