Needed to be done. Assad needed to be warned: So far and no further.

I think Assad is having his strings pulled by Iran on this or he's working overtime to get Iran involved. First trying to suck in Turkey, which did not work and now Israel. Let me see know, I have a civil uprising on my hands, why not spread my forces out and tempt NATO to level my country with the UNs blessing? Oops that didn't work, well lets look at another border. The entire area is about to go up in flames if he succeeds. That cooler heads prevail so far is hopeful and amazing.

So he is seeking to "bury the [region] under the ruins of his throne"?

Who knows? Looks like it. And Russia certainly does not want to loose their foothold in the Med. But this could get to where even Putin has to say "enough". And it could spin out of everyones control.

 Frank says:

The crux of the biscuit is: If it entertains you, fine. Enjoy it. If it doesn't, then blow it out your ass. I do it to amuse myself. If I like it, I release it. If somebody else likes it, that's a bonus. -- What he's talking about is obvious. He said this in an interview with Playboy magazine on May 2, 1993.
