Priceless. "Hey! Louie?" Wha? "Get us a cover shot of that Paula Broadwell book." Who? "Broadwell." Which one? "The Petraeus one." OK. I'll look.

I am now, officially, 100% ready for this story to be over.

ABC has obviously mastered the fine art of the single entendre.

Which is kind of a pity, because there there's so much comedy gold in this saga without being crude. For example:

All in: that goes without comment.

The Education of General Petraeus

An 'embedded' journalist who had 'unrestricted access' to the General.

Writer's diary, day 1: getting the lay of the land.

Writer's diary, day 2: getting my...feet under the desk.

The *head desk* moment.

Broadwell tells all: I give General Petraeus 'four stars'.

Broadwell sings: I'm the very (machine gun) model of a modern military major general...

Petraeus: I was hoping to get the Gingrich voters when I launched my Presidential run...

Getting to know your subject (in the biblical sense).

Getting to know your biographer inside out.

Polishing your thesis material.

Creating a surge/staying the course.

And in a shocking twist, it turns out the FBI agent who kicked off the investigation is none other than...Anthony Wiener.

All joking aside, folks. If there's one lesson we should all take away from this story, it's this:

The E-mail of the species is far, far deadlier than the mail.

Game Over for Obamacare Saboteurs?
The spoiler version is that out in California, where the state government and advocacy groups are actually interested in doing Obamacare right, things are looking pretty good. They're standing up their exchanges and it turns out premiums for basic bronze and more comprehensive silver health plans will actually come in lower than anticipated. This is almost unambiguously good news for Obamacare. You can ...

What Landscape Photos Would Look Like if Earth Had a Ring Like Saturn’s
Last month we shared some photo illustrations by science artist Ron Miller that showed what the night sky would look like if other planets in our solar system replaced the moon. Now Miller is back again with an equally interesting concept: what would landscape photos look like if Earth had a ring like Saturn's? It's nice having a moon, but "for spectacular skies ...

4 Reasons ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’ Is Secretly About Drugs
Nice, right? Anyway, here's my thesis: Raiders of the Lost Ark is not an action-adventure movie about an archaeologist who plays by his own rules and saves the day. Instead, the film is an exploration of Marion Ravenwood's crippling drug addiction. An addiction that was born from her unhealthy relationship and continued association with Indiana Jones. Is it true? Who cares. Can I prove ...

Censorship Reigns in Nord-Kivu Areas Under M23 Rebel Control
Fighting between M23 rebels and government forces has intensified near Goma, the capital of the eastern province of Nord-Kivu, since 20 May. As well as causing new civilian casualties, the clashes and the actions of some rebels are endangering many journalists and the availability of diverse, freely-reported news and information. Reporters Without Borders has conducted a series of interviews with Nord-Kivu journalists and ...

Woolwich: a History of Violence
As shocking and appalling as Wednesdays brutal murder was, Woolwich (wool-ich) is a not so surprising location for such an attack. As someone pretty local to Woolwich, I thought I might give a little profile of the area, if anyone is interested. Woolwich is traditionally a military area, with the old Arsenal at its centre and the new barracks one of London's important military ...

New Method for Producing Clean Hydrogen
Duke University engineers have developed a novel method for producing clean hydrogen, which could prove essential to weaning society off of fossil fuels and their environmental implications. While hydrogen is ubiquitous in the environment, producing and collecting molecular hydrogen for transportation and industrial uses is expensive and complicated. Just as importantly, a byproduct of most current methods of producing hydrogen is carbon monoxide, ...
