11 people now charged in Ft. Stewart militia plot
A former Navy recruit has been charged in connection with a militia group that Georgia prosecutors say plotted terrorist attacks while members operated inside the U.S. military.
District Attorney Tom Durden of southeast Georgia’s Atlantic Judicial Circuit said Wednesday that 27-year-old Jeffrey Wayne Roberts of Savannah is the 11th person charged in the case. Authorities say the group was led by Army soldiers from Fort Stewart…
Durden says Roberts wasn’t involved in the December slayings of former soldier Michael Roark and his girlfriend, Tiffany York, whose killings brought the militia case to light.
