Since when have casino owners - you know - what was once considered the scum of the earth making money from vice - people like Wynn and Addison - become respectable business owners whose fucking opinions we need to follow and or listen to?

Wynn and Addison are vice lords. Gambling pimps. Their business should be legal but being legal and legitimate is not the same as being respected.

I want prostitution to be legalized and regulated. If that happens, one day we may see a billion dollar brothel business rise up. That does not mean the brothel owner would be a respectable business man whose opinion we should give two shits about either.

The business was more respectable back when the Mafia ran it.

Wynn also got bitch-slapped when a judge cut the fine to the Girls Gone Wild douche 50%.

This illustrates to me that the 1%'s problem with Obama isn't "socialism"; they have made oodles of money during his administration. Its that they want to be worshipped as living gods. To the GOP, they are all powerful "Job Creators", just one step below "The Creator" himself. Obama recognizes that they have a role to play in a free society, just like everyone else, but he doesn't accord them the worshipful respect they think they deserve. He actually expects them to act in a socially responsible manner, rather than respecting their right as the plantation owners to decide what is best for themselves and everyone else.

An Open Letter From UniteWomen.org to Serena Williams
While my anger and disbelief did not subside, I soon moved to sadness. Do you live in such a protected bubble that you would blame the victim of rape and excuse the perpetrators? The GOP Dilemma Over the Voting Rights Act
It's particularly heavy baggage for Republicans. While Democrats and civil rights groups stand largely united behind the broadest interpretations of the Voting Rights Act, for Republicans it's a trickier matter. On one hand, they are eager to reach out to minority voters. They eagerly tout their charismatic, high-profile minority officeholders like Sens. Tim Scott or South Carolina and Ted Cruz of Texas, Nikki Haley ...

Jack Shafer: Snowden vs the Dragons
Reuters: But even the press in aggregate is not a friend to whistle-blowers, as its recent treatment of Snowden attests, what with the deep dives into his teen years (including photos), his education and employment history, his reputation as a loner and a “brainiac,” his pants-down hijinks, his online scribblings, his dancer girlfriend, his predilection for (in his own words) “post-coital Krispy Kremes.” Squeezing ...

When Laura Gambrel, 22, of Zionsville, Ind., graduated from Indiana University in May, she wanted to keep the celebration pretty low key.
