Obama’s Propaganda-Turnout Machine
I interrupt your Benghazi-gate-athon to draw your attention to that voice of non-bi-partisanship, the Wall Street Journal (h/t Balloon Juice). Here at last is the true story of how Obama used all manner of criminal deceit and gift-giving to triumph in last week’s election:
The Obama ‘turnout machine’ wasn’t faceless. It was real people living full-time, some much of the past four years, in battleground states such as Ohio, Iowa and Virginia. They attended full-time to targeted racial, ethnic and labor constituencies, as the campaign did in 2008. Obama adviser David Plouffe calls them ‘the persuasion army.’ I would call it a skilled propaganda machine.
Did you get that? It almost sounds as if the Obama campaign hired, paid for, actual real people to contact voters and give them information, to persuade them to vote for Obama. Whoever heard of such a thing?
This is unbelievable. Outrageous. It’s propaganda is what it is. And all the men-of-the-people campaign, led by Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, had was a few measly hundred billion dollars in SuperPAC money filling the teevee airways with campaign ads. And the highest rated cable teevee station news network going 24/7 for “America’s Comeback Team”. And a country-wide network of ratio talk shows broadcasting pro-GOPteabag messages every day all over the country. Tell me, just how were these piddling resources supposed to compete with actual real people from a campaign talking to real voters face to face about their candidate and his policies?
What has (Believe in) America come to? Now we’re doomed to a thousand hundred years of darkness.
