What Peace Activism Looks Like in San Francisco
Peace groups, like ANSWER, routinely show up at “rallies for peace” to bash Israel and Jews. They, like many others, use “Zionist” to replace “Jew” so as to appear nuanced with their politics. It’s a joke.
We know Zionism drove the creation of the State of Israel forward. However, chanting “death to the Jews,” even among the ranks of hard-core activists, is known to be bad for public relations. Tends to turn people away from you, rather than towards. Anyway…
This is from Thursday November 15th. it’s a very short clip. As usual, the much larger crowd of peace activists are allowed to stand in front of the Israeli Consulate at 456 Montgomery Street, while those of us who also want peace AND desire Israel’s continued existence, stand across from them. SFPD seems satisfied with this arrangement and overall it works rather well.
