I have a gallon of peroxide for my spa and a can of pain thinner in my garage. One could make about 5 pounds of high explosive with this if one were so inclined.

What are the odds this doc owns a hot tub?

Something scared someone enough to tip off the cops. Let's give the police the benefit of doubt.

I'm assuming a team of NRA lawyers will take the case pro bono.

I was thinking the same thing.
dang, my "nastybad chemicals" cupboard probably contains all, or nearly all, ingredients to brew several kilos of plastic explosives, from what I recall.
...I have an air gun and a small crossbow (pretty much the limits of what I'm legally allowed to own, down here...) used for plinking empty soda cans etc. at times.

kind of reminds me of the press coverage after large police raids here (the ones involving marihuana cases are often the most hilarious) with police displaying the "over a hundred" weapons found on the scene: kitchen knives, scissors, a piece of wood which might just as well have served to hold up a table leg etc. oh in rare cases there might be a gun, or something which is obviously (at least intended as) a combat knife but generally a pair of brass knuckles is the most they find.
...It's enough to convince people how dangerous those horrible marihuana farmers are though, sadly. //where was I :P
