political on the part of the ruling Likud to stoke up the war fears before an election)

How can that be so? Hundreds of rockets, mortars and missiles are being directed into Israel, and you think responding to that is political?

For that to be true, it would mean that Likud is firing these weapons on Israeli citizens.

If you don't agree with responding to being fired upon, please I am curious... what should Israel have done?

Oh, and no one is a fan of what is going on in Israel/Gaza.

No one is a fan of war. No one.

re: #1 Buck

Israel takes out a military head and you act like there won't be retaliation? Near an election? By a right wing PM who never met a war he didn't like to wage?

Buck, stop being a partisan. Not everything should be Israel first all the time, every time.

With that said, the Turkish position, noting Turkish intransigence toward the genocide question and their continued illegal occupation of northern Cyprus and supplying of weapons to the so called "Free Syrian Army" (which the USA also backs along with those paragons of freedom, Saudi Arabia) makes their outrage sound outrageous to me.

Hamas started firing mortars and rockets into Israel over the weekend. By Wednesday, Ahmed Jabari was taken out. Cause, meet effect.

That is debatable. But if true, taking out the military head made things worse not better. B) Cause and effect-see occupation and blockade.

PS: By the way, we seem to agree on many points but butt heads against Israel. I welcome any viewpoint you may have and I will try my best to present mine to you.

re: #7 Destro

I have the exact opposite situation going on with Buck. We seem to disagree on most points, but find common, shared values on Israel. Until the Arab leadership comes to terms with the fact that neither Israel nor Spain are going to rejoin the Caliphate, I will not find myself embracing the Arab idealogical meme of "Israeli Apartheid".

Spain is lucky she is on America's good side so that won't happen. Serbs with their relations to Russia were not and the USA backed Islam's return to the Balkans.

I welcome any feedback and counterview. Usually the posters who don't like my views on Israel (which I think are no different that what America's policy has been for decades) tend to violate Godwin's law so I ignore their opinions.
