When I think of Clear Channel, their original holding company Hick, Muse, Tate, and Furst comes to mind - a group headed by one of the biggest corporate weasels in recent history, Tom Hicks.

For those of you unfamiliar with him, he is a personal friend of the Bush family, and bought controlling interest in several Dallas professional sports franchises, as well as the English soccer franchise, Liverpool FC... and proceeded to mismanage each and every one of them into bankruptcy. He succeeded in even turning some of the most rightwing conservatives in Texas against him due to his ineptitude.

Clear Channel is just another company left in his wake of destruction.

Billions in debt.

Clear Channel did that by themselves.

CC made radio listening horrible during their years of buying stations, firing staff, and programming them all to be alike. It's fitting that they're being eaten by Willard Romney's vulture capital business.

Oh, this is delicious indeed! Having grown up pre-Clear Channel with independently owned radio stations that were worth listening to, I sincerely hope the company goes down in flames... even better, melts away in whimpering embers at the greedy hands of Bain. 'Twould be sweet justice!

Arise again, WKRP in Cincinnati!
