Whatever one may think of more 'normal' uses of the death penalty, in this case it not a bad idea because guilt was decisively proven and the crime heinous and aimed at the whole of Indian society. So yes, this man was justly executed.

Yes, I am OK with a death penalty when the guilt is obvious (head in a fridge type evidence).

But again, I want to kind of move away from the death penalty aspect and concentrate on this relationship the USA has with these countries that are strategic allies and sponsors of anti-American terrorism.

That is something that seems to be ignored no end.

Agreed. And plenty of Pakistan's ISI who helped carry this out deserved to hang besides him (and maybe even more so since they basically brainwashed this person who was an uneducated hick they used).
